Bollywood director Vikas Bahl is ready for his OTT debut. Her next director is Murder Mystery Sunflower, who is a multi-starrer and boasts of a talented star cast. You can watch Tournesol on ZEE5 because it starts airing from June 11. National award winner Vikas Bahl collaborates with Rahul Sengupta for this show. Speaking of the National Awards, he’s won it twice for its director, Chhillar Party. Vikas Bahl is also known for his hit films Queen with Kangana Ranaut and Super 30 by Hrithik Roshan. While the platform is already chock-full of political murder mysteries and thrillers, this detective comedy is one of a kind.

Besides being a talented director, Vikas Bahl is also an excellent producer. He has produced films like Masaan, Udta Punjab, Manmarziyan and Ghoomketu among others. Bahl’s Sunflower web series stars Sunil Grover in the lead role. It also features Ranvir Shorey, Mukul Chadda, Ashish Vidyarthi, Shonali Nagrani, Girish Kulkarni and Sonal Jha as well as new faces like Ria Nalavade and Dayanna Erappa.

About the sunflower

Vikas Bahl’s Web Sunflower series is a thriller revolving around a housing company of the same name. A murder takes place in the company which gives rise to a police investigation. Ranvir Shorey and Girish Kulkarni play the Inspector and Deputy Inspector, respectively, who are in charge of this murder investigation. Their main suspect is Sonu (Sunil Grover) who involuntarily gets involved in this case. Everything he says or does only makes it worse for him.

Sunflower has been a long-standing company in the heart of Mumbai and as murder occurs in the famous company, locals are increasingly worried about its image. Veteran actor Ashish Vidyrthi will play the role of Dilip Iyer, the company secretary. His character is meant to be arrogant as he thinks about ways to be the next president of the company. Actors like Ranvir Shorey and Girish Kulkarni have gained great recognition for their past work in the industry. We bet their collaboration with Sunflower will yield amazing results.

Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Good Co., the eight-part series is said to be a comedy of errors as protagonist Sonu continues to make mistakes with the intention of breaking free from the investigation. On the other hand, the real culprits hide in the shadows and enjoy the spectacle. Sunil Grover is best known for his comedic timings and incredible screen presence, and we can’t wait to see what he brings with his role as Sonu Singh in Sunflower.

About the shooting process

Vikas Bahl’s sunflower was cut down after the lockdown in the country was lifted last year. It was one of the first projects to be implemented after states began to ease restrictions. The producers had maintained the strictest safety standards on the series sets. The actors and crew members have been subjected to regular COVID-19 tests, to have a healthy and safe environment. In addition, a minimum crew has been appointed to avoid crowds and large gatherings.
