Warburg Pincus, backed by Parksons Packaging Ltd, announced Monday that it has acquired the leading producer of cardboard packaging, Manohar Packaging. It has a strong presence in the alcoholic beverage and confectionery packaging segment, and the acquisition will help Parksons Packaging strengthen its pan-Indian footprint.

The company has not disclosed any advertisements associated with the deal.

Siddharth Kejriwal, Managing Director of Parksons Packaging, said: “Parksons has always been at the forefront of delivering high quality service and innovation to our customers. The addition of Manohar’s depth of services and expertise in the field strengthens our offerings in the food and beverage segment and increases our footprint in North and West India. “

Founded in 1994, Manohar Packing is one of India’s leading producers of cardboard packaging and the industry leader in the alcoholic beverage segment. “Manohar’s deep industry expertise and long-standing relationships with its renowned clientele bring significant synergies to Parksons domain expertise and depth of service,” the statement added.

With 2 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities across India, Manohar Packaging has the capacity to convert over 100 million sheets per year and serve its customers.

“The factories bring high strategic value to Parksons Packaging and are significantly scalable for the future,” he added.

Parksons Packaging has six manufacturing plants located in Daman, Chakan, Pantnagar, Guwahati and Sricity, combined with Manohar’s presence in Goa and Punjab, which will further enhance the reach of the combined business and effectively serve customers across the country, Kejriwal said.

Aditya Patwardhan, CEO of Manohar Packaging, said: “This is a tremendous opportunity to continue our growth within Parksons and build the nation’s leading folding box manufacturer. Based on Parksons values, core capabilities, excellent brand reputation and support from Warburg. Pincus is a natural fit that strengthens our long-term vision and our relationships with customers. “
